The Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) helps over 153,000 lower-income households save on electricity.

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) manages the OESP for eligible residents that live in a rental suite and pay for their own electricity. If you qualify, this program gives you a credit every month on your bill from Wyse Meter Solutions Inc. The credit amount will depend on how many people live in your home and your combined household income. Special assistance may be available if you:

• Heat your home electrically
• Have medical devices that use a lot of electricity
• Are First Nations or Métis

Changes to the OESP effective May 1, 2017:

• Credits have increased by 50%.
• More households can qualify with increases to the maximum income threshold.
